I started creating line drawings during high school. Those ‘Flashliners’ are divergent lines similar to a flashlight. Bored and always looking for adventure and chaos, it was a way to contain it. Drawing lines with great care structured the mind and gave focus. A way to survive 50 boring minutes. Don’t forget, every line is hand drawn with care and love. Always handmade. Parallel, I loved drawing futuristic buildings and industrial sites. Years later I visualized that those two passions, drawing cities and Flashliners, were a powerful way to create my own cities.
Some buildings locals tend to ignore. People who rush by every day without noticing the beauty of it. These buildings deserve more love, like the Rembrandt Tower. A true skyscraper but seldom loved and mostly regarded as ugly. Can u see the beauty now? A tribute to the creators of Icons.
